Religion in
Anglo-Saxon England 

The Anglo-Saxons were a compilation of different Germanic tribes from Northwest Europe.  As such, they shared many of their belief structures with the pagan Old Norse religions.  During the time of the Sutton Hoo Stories, many efforts were being made by the Roman Catholic Church to re-introduce Christianity to the British Isles.  Please see the links below for more information on religion during this period.
